Digital Dreaming
By allowing computer programs and neural networks to generate art, Digital Dreaming challenges the conception of computers as mediators of artistic creativity. The audio is procedurally generated by software randomly playing discreet piano loops. While the audio reactive visuals are created using note onset detection and StyleGAN2.
Digital Dreaming was invited for performance at Shanghai TANK Art Festival 2022.

Rainy Day

Minimal City
I approached this music with an emphasis on combining acoustic elements such as bells and pianos with the defining characteristics of house music. Much of the production process has been playing my MIDI keyboard and testing different piano melodies.

Demon
Making music could be stressful. Making this project is like constantly bashing my brain with sonic weapons. But I'm satisfied with the result (more mixing is needed though, and I have to extend this track beyond 3min). The entire process is trial and error. I try out different instruments, samples, effects and see whether they work or not, and slowly the music develops. In the process, I played around with my sampled Kontakt instrument that is designed to produce an array of industrial sounds. This turned out to be the metallic percussion that entered the song after the first drop. I also layered a Massive Hihat in the song.

April Euphoria
I attempted to make this track 3D, if you want to hear the effect you should listen to this song with headphones. It took a moderate amount of time to finish this. The effects that I added are crash cymbals, risers, and down lifters. Simple percussions are added and I reverberated them. To add some nuance to the song, I experimented with different pad sounds and I settled in on the one that you will hear during the chorus. arpeggiated plucks, guitars and vocals are also added.

To a Dancer
Inspired by the dance choreography by Kyle Hanagami, I created this trap music as background music. The main melody of this music is created by reversing a piano recording from my friend, which worked surprisingly well with the trap beat and 808. Created in 8th grade.
